JAIPUR: The Kisan Sansad organized by Samyukt Kisan Morcha at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur on Tuesday rejected the committee formed by the government on minimum support price (MSP) and instead demanded a law to guarantee MSP.
The proposal to abolish New Pension Scheme(NPS) and implement Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was also passed. Speaking about OPS, various speakers described it as a stick to employees in old age and support till the last moment of life.
Accepting the fact that water is the basis of life, the proposal to link rivers was also passed unanimously in the meeting. The proposal to declare the ERCP (East Rajasthan Canal Project) of Rajasthan as a national project by the Central Government was also passed in the meeting.
The leaders of Samyukt Kisan Morcha Rakesh Tikait , Suresh Koth, Dr Darshan Pal Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Manjit Rai, Jagbir Singh Chauhan and others spoke at the farmers' parliament.
