Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:19AM

Britannia Industries(up 0.88%), Varun Beverages(up 0.81%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.70%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.68%), Dangee Dums(up 0.60%), Umang Dairies(up 0.55%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.53%), Emami(up 0.32%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.31%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Hindustan Foods(down 7.15%), Nakoda Group(down 5.00%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 2.11%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.07%), Gillette India(down 1.85%), Parag Milk(down 1.72%), Heritage Foods(down 1.65%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.46%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.29%) and Prataap Snacks(down 1.16%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 89.8 points down at 16629.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 319.07 points at 55753.16 at around 10:19AM.

Enterprises(up 1.93%), Tata Steel(up 1.71%), UPL Ltd(up 1.1%), Britannia Industries(up 0.88%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.85%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.76%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.7%), Wipro(up 0.61%), ICICI Bank(up 0.58%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Reliance Industries(down 3.68%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.65%), Grasim Industries(down 1.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.45%), Eicher Motors(down 1.22%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.17%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.11%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.02%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.01%) were trading in the red.
