Punjab: Proclaimed offender, aide held with heroin, drug money

LUDHIANA: The Ladhowal police on Sunday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) and his accomplice for drug peddling. The cops claimed to have recovered 100g heroin and Rs 40,000 drug money from their possession.
The accused have been identified as PO Vijay Kumar of Jandiala Guru in Amritsar and Sunny Jain of Bhamian Kalan in Jamalpur. Vijay is wanted in a Kapurthala murder case registered in 2020. He was living in a rented accommodation in Bhamiyan.
Additional deputy commissioner of police-III Shubham Agarwal said, “During a checking in Ladhowal, 100g heroin and Rs 40,000 drug money were recovered from a Hyundai i-20 car, which has been impounded and its two occupants arrested. While investigating the case, it was found that Vijay was wanted by Dhilwan police station of Kapurthala in a murder case.”
