Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:04AM

Indowind Energy(up 2.22%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.75%), ADANIGREEN(up 0.44%), Adani Transmissions(up 0.15%), CESC(up 0.13%) and Alstom T&D India(up 0.09%) were among the top gainers.

JSW Energy(down 3.35%), Karma Energy(down 2.97%), RTNPOWER(down 2.53%), Hitachi Energy India(down 2.46%), Limited(down 2.24%), Jyoti Structures(down 1.89%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.84%), NLC India(down 1.77%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.70%) and Orient Green Power Company(down 1.56%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 123.45 points down at 16596.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 434.12 points at 55638.11 at around 10:04AM.

Enterprises(up 2.06%), Tata Steel(up 1.18%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.94%), UPL Ltd(up 0.87%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.66%), Britannia Industries(up 0.52%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.4%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.3%), ICICI Bank(up 0.29%) and Wipro(up 0.27%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Reliance Industries(down 3.82%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.38%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.73%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.72%), Grasim Industries(down 1.62%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.43%), Eicher Motors(down 1.36%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.31%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.17%) and Coal India(down 1.14%) were trading in the red.
