2 from Silk City among state’s top 3 in ISC exam

Bhubaneswar: Students of Odisha registered a pass percentage of 99.47%, better than the national average of 99.38% in the Indian School Certificate’s (ISC)’s Class XII board exam, the results of which was released on Sunday.
Pragyan Mishra of De Paul School, Berhampur, topped the state by securing 99.25%. Soumya Patnaik of the same school and Lalitendu Jagatjyoti Mishra of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, jointly secured the second position with 98.75%. Sneha Mishra of St Joseph’s Convent School, Rourkela, stood third by scoring 98.5% marks, sources in the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), said.
A total of 1,871 students had appeared for the exam across 26 schools in the state. Girls have fared better with a pass percentage of 99.67%, while boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.26%.
A total of 125 scheduled caste candidates appeared in the examination, achieving a 100% pass percentage, while 285 candidates from the scheduled tribe community took the examination, recording a pass percentage of 99.65%.
In India, the southern region has the best pass percentage of 99.81% followed by Western region, with 99.58%. Though city school students did not feature in the top three, all schools in the city have recorded 100% results, sources said.
The CISCE has made provision for recheck of results for which students can apply through the website from July 24 to 30. Students will have to pay Rs 1000 per subject for recheck.
