Ranchi: Entrance examinations for Army jobs under the Agnipath scheme began on Sunday at two centres here amid tight security. The examinations for all three streams of the armed forces will continue till August 2. On day one, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted recruitment tests in three shifts starting from 9 am and continuing till 6 pm. The two examination centres are Oxford Public School and Sanskar IT and Management Services.
Aspirants from across Jharkhand and neighbouring states came to Ranchi to sit for the examinations and expressed their eagerness to join the military through the new recruitment scheme.
Sudhir Kumar from Palamu, who wrote exams in the first shift, said, “Though many aspirants are against the new recruitment scheme in the armed forces, I find it good. I have applied for it as I will get a chance of completing my studies and earn a livelihood at the same time. If selected, I will start a business with earnings from the four years of service.”
The IAF recruitment test comprises objective-type questions carrying one mark each. The number of questions and time allotted were different for candidates who applied for Group X, Group Y and Group XY categories.
