Varanasi: Managing the huge footfall of devotees on the second ‘Somvar’ (Monday) of the holy month of ‘Shravan’ month will be a Herculean task for the police and district administration as the rising water level of the river Ganga in Varanasi has submerged ghat steps breaking inter connectivity.
Following this, the entry of pilgrims and kanwariyas in Kashi Vishwanath Dham will not be possible through Ganga Dwar. This could make officials sweat in finalizing the new arrangements for crowd management as KV temple had witnessed a new record of footfall of 5.50 lakh pilgrims and Kanwariyas for offering Jalabhishek on the first Monday of Shravan on July 18 when 40% of total crowd entered the KV Dham via Ganga Dwar.
