Triple murder in Aligarh: Man kills parents, niece with brick and hammer

ALIGARH: A 22-year-old unemployed youth brutally battered his parents and his four-year-old niece to death in Aligarh’s Vikas Nagar area on Monday and later walked to the Gandhi Nagar police station and surrendered himself.
Police said that Saurabh, a diploma in polytechnic, reached the police station and confessed to the crime and claimed that he was irked with his family members.
He allegedly killed his parents with a hammer and brick. While his parents died on the spot, his niece succumbed to injuries when she was being taken to the hospital. Police recovered the hammer and the brick used from the crime scene.
Saurabh’s father Om Prakash (62) had retired as an ADO from panchayat department in 2019, his mother Somvati was 60-years-old and his niece Shiva (4).
During interrogation, he told police that his father had given all of his money to his elder brother Rameshwar, who runs Gym in the city after retirement. However, his father had refused to meet his demands.
SSP Kalanidhi Naithani said that forensic team has collected the evidence from the crime spot. Prima facie it was a matter of a family dispute The FIR is being registered and bodies have been sent for post mortem.
