20 students hurt in lightning strike at Bokaro school

Bokaro: At least 20 students of Class IV and V were injured when lightning struck the Bandhdih Middle School at Jaridih block in the district at about 1 pm on Saturday. When the incident happened, some of the students were playing on campus while the others were attending their classes.
Confirming the incident, district disaster management officer Shakti Kumar said he visited the school to review the situation. He said, “All injured students are hospitalised at the moment but they are out of danger.”
Education minister Jagarnath Mahto met the students in the hospital and ordered the district authorities to instal a lightning conductor at the school within the next 10 days.
