Vision, money no deterrent for them to achieve success

Ludhiana: Two students, who have visual disability, have scored really well in the CBSE XII exams. Gurleen Kaur of Guru Nanak International Public School and DAV School BRS Nagar’s Rajveer Singh Bhatia have permanent visual impairment, yet they have shown dedication in board exams.
Gurleen is 70% visually disabled and has scored 92.2 % in the commerce stream. She was diagnosed with high myopia from birth. Hailing from Isher Naga, her father Jasvinder Singh works in a pharmacy, and her mother Sandeep Kaur is a housewife. She said, “ I used to study 10 hours a day and I have been working throughout the year. My mother ,who has not even completed her graduation, has motivated me to opt for studies. I am not able to read clearly and find difficulty in reading texts .So, I need enlarged texts.”
Rajveer Singh Bhatia scored 89.2% in Class XII commerce. He has a 60% visual disability He said, “ As I have a poor sight, the text is not readable and I use a portable video magnifier to make it readable.” Rajveer wants to pursue his father's business after completing his BBA.
