Panaji: Admissions of hand-foot-and-mouth disease at South Goa district hospital are on the decline.
Last month, the hospital saw nearly four to five admissions a day.
"In some cases, hospitalisations have been due to high fever which resulted in seizures,” said a senior pediatrician.
“Parents needn't panic much. It's a self-limiting disease. There are different strains of the same virus and children can get infected again, despite getting infected last year. However, there will be cross-protection so the subsequent infection might be much milder,” she said.
