BHUBANESWAR: The state fire services on Saturday commissioned an advanced rescue tender with director general of fire services Santosh Upadhyay flagging off the new fire and rescue vehicle. The multi-functional emergency rescue vehicle cost the government Rs 35 crore. It has been designed especially for the purpose of use in fire disaster, rescue in roads and buildings and to attend to other special tasks.
The new fire tender can deal with large fires. It has fire entry suits, breathing apparatus and other sophisticated equipment. It can deal with hazardous incidents of chemical leakage, toxic liquid or gas leakage. TNN
