Second accused in SI hit-&-run case arrested

Ranchi: Police arrested the second accused in connection with the mowing down of sub-inspector Sandhya Topno earlier this week by a van that was illegally transporting cattle.
Ranchi SSP Kishore Kaushal said, “We have arrested the second accused named Sajid, who was also in the van at the time of the incident. During interrogation, Sajid admitted to his presence in the van and confirmed that the cattle were being transported from Odisha to Kanta Toli in Ranchi. Earlier, we had arrested driver Md Nazir.”
Police are also probing the role of Sajid’s father Tahir in illegal trade of cattle. The search for another suspect, who owned the vehicle, is on, the SSP added.
