Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Saturday launched the state’s new tourism policy and also unveiled a four-part special promotional audio-visual series titled ‘Postcards from Jharkhand’ which will be showcased from Saturday on the National Geographic channel.
Launching the policy and the series at a formal ceremony in New Delhi, Soren said, “Jharkhand has immense potential in the tourism sector as it has remained untapped so far. I urge all investors to come, explore and invest in Jharkhand for overall sustainable growth and all-round economic boom. I assure you that all those who come first will be given a special package in lieu of their investment, besides what is enshrined in our new policy.”
In an enterprising attempt to woo the investors, Soren further said, “The Covid-19 pandemic has brought a host of suffering besides affecting everyone’s health. The biggest sector hit by Covid is tourism.”
Soren also said, “It is time to give it a push to create jobs for sustainable development, especially in a state like Jharkhand.”
