Man wanted in assault & theft case arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: The city police on Saturday arrested a man on charges of assault and theft two years after he committed the offence. The arrested person was identified as Shaju, 33, alias Thampi. He is a resident of Sathyan Nagar, Nemom Estate.
The incident happened in March 2020. A four-member team, including Shaju, barged into a house at Satyan Nagar and attacked a girl and stole money and ATM card.
The police had arrested three people in connection with the case. But Shaju, the main accused, went into hiding.
A special team was formed to arrest him .
Nemom SHO Ragesh Kumar SIs Vipin, Prasad, Ajith Kumar, Subrahmanian Potty, ASIs Ajith Kumar, Sreekumar, civil police officers Abhiram, Giri, Latheesh, Rajasekharan, Saju, Sajan were part of the police team who arrested him. He was produced in the court and remanded into judicial custody.
