Press Day celebrated

Dharwad: Dharwad Journalists Guild observed Press Day at Suvarna complex here on Friday. President of the guild Basavaraj Hongal presided over the function. Senior journalists from various media houses participated in the event. Vice-president Basavaraj Alagawadi, secretary E S Sudheendra Prasad and others spoke on the occasion.
At another function organised by NGO Sadhana at Kannada Sahitya Parishat hall, Papu Sadhana awards were presented to journalist Vithaldas Kamat and photojournalist Mahadev Patil. The awards carry a purse of Rs 10,000 and citation each. Senior advocate Prakash Udakeri did the honour. tnn
