Elderly couple electrocuted

Namakkal: An aged couple were electrocuted when they came into contact with a snapped wire in their goat shed in Namakkal district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Paramasivam, 70, and his wife Palaniammal, 65, from Pandamangalam village near Paramathi Velur. Police said Paramasivam had a goat shed adjacent to his house. Early on Friday morning, Paramasivam and Palaniammal went to attend the goats in the shed.
Unaware that the electric wire had snapped and was lying on the fence of the shed, Paramasivam placed his hand on it. As he suffered a jolt, Palaniammal went to his rescue and she was also electrocuted. tnn
