Ludhiana: Man sexually assaults stepdaughter, nabbed

LUDHIANA: Police arrested a man for allegedly sexually harassing his stepdaughter on Thursday. The FIR was lodged against him on the complaint of his wife who also recorded his act on a hidden camera.
In her complaint to police, the woman said she had married for the second time and she had a 17-year-old daughter from the first marriage. The accused kept a bad eye on her daughter. Once, she saw the accused touching her daughter inappropriately. On objecting to it, the accused had thrashed her and her daughter. Later, when she raised the matter with the other family members, no one believed her.
The woman further said she brought a hidden camera in which the accused was captured harassing the girl. Thereafter, she lodged a complaint with the police.
Sub-inspector Avinash Rai said the police lodged an FIR under Sections 354-C (Voyeurism), 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. Later, the accused was arrested.
