Uttar Pradesh: 15-year-old ends life after failing in exams

LUCKNOW: A 15-year-old boy hanged himself in Sultanpur district after failing in class X CBSE board examinations on Saturday.
Police said that results were announced on Friday after which the boy locked himself in a room. He was found hanging on Saturday morning. His family was not around when he took the extreme step.
The incident was reported to the Kotwali police station of the district.
Circle officer, Sultanpur City, Raghvendra Chaturvedi told TOI that the boy lived with his parents in Dubeypur area of Kanshiram Colony. "He was a student of class X, CBSE board, the results of which were announced on Friday,” he said.
"After he couldn't clear the examination, Ajay, under a spell of depression, locked himself in a room. At that time his parents were not at home as they had gone to Lucknow,” he added.
On Saturday, when his friends came to meet him they did not get any response from inside. They immediately called the neighbours who broke open the door and found that Ajay was hanging from the ceiling fan. The police said that the body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of his death.
