GUWAHATI: Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday apprehended four suspected Bangladeshi women at the Kamakhya railway station.
A senior RPF official said the women were below 18 years of age and had entered Tripura through the Indo-Bangla border and travelled to Guwahati by train.
“They had planned to go to New Delhi. During preliminary investigation, it has been found that they were taken by a person from Tripura to Guwahati. During interrogation, they said they came from Bangladesh,” the official added.
Police have also recovered a few documents along with fake Aadhar cards from the possession of the women. Police suspect a human trafficking angle in the case and have launched a probe.
