Centre extends Mhadei water disputes tribunal's term by another year

PANAJI: The Union government has extended the tenure of Mhadei water disputes tribunal by another year for submission of its report.
“In pursuance of the powers conferred by the provision to sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said act, the Central government hereby extends the period of submission of further report by the said tribunal for a further period of one year with effect from the August 20, 2022,” ministry of jal shakti, additional secretary, Debashree Mukherjee said.
The tribunal had requested the Centre to extend the period of its tenure by another year for submission of its further report.
