Vadodara: Covid-19 snatched away the sole bread-earner of city-based Yeola family. Shravani lost her father Rahul Yeola during the deadly wave in 2020. But on Friday, Shravani, cleared her Class XII exam with 80.2 %.
“My father was working as an engineer in Mumbai. He passed away while he was working in the office there,” said Shravani, a student of Urmi School.
Her mother Nilima Yeola, however, gathered courage and started selling home-made snacks. “We had no source of income. But my mother took it up as a challenge,” said Shravani, who dreams of becoming a computer science engineer.
“We still don’t have a stable source of income as much of the business depends on the orders that we receive but my mother tries to earn Rs 10,000 a month,” said Shravani, a resident of Manjalpur area of the city. Her younger sister Shrushti Yeola is in Class nine.
