Mysuru: Former minister KS Eshwarappa on Friday dropped hints that he is aspiring to get back to the Bommai cabinet after he was forced to resign following suicide of Belagavi-based contractor Santosh Patil. Now that he has come out clean, it is for the party high command to decide whether he should be made a minister again, Eshwarappa said after visited Sri Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi Hills and offering prayers. “I’ve prayed to goddess Chamundehwari to extend me strength and courage to continue my work,” he said.
Stressing that he his innocence is proved in the probe carried out by the Karnataka police, he said: “I’d resigned to stop putting my party and leaders in an embarrassing position. I’m now relieved that I’ve come out clean. The high command will take a call on my future course of action.”
He took on opposition leader Siddaramaiah for claiming that he has got a clean chit due to the pressure exerted by the Bommai government. “Siddaramaiah has served as a CM and had practiced law. He knows the legal process. Even after the B report is submitted after a probe if he continues to target me, I can do little,” he said.
Eshwarappa accused Siddaramaiah and KPCC chief DK Shivakumar of casteism and trying to get support from their respective castes for their political survival and growth. This is unlike M Mallikarjuna Kharge and BK Hariprasad who have opposed such a stance, he said.
