ReutersNEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 390.28 points up at 56072.23 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Manomay Tex India(down 11.72 per cent), Alfred Herbert(down 11.40 per cent), Info(down 10.62 per cent), Aananda Lakshmi Spin(down 10.55 per cent) and Super Tex Ind(down 10.00 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 32 stocks closed in the green, while 17 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 114.2 points up at 16719.45.
On the BSE, , , , Shree Ganesh and hit their fresh 52-week lows, while , Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd., Sailani Tours N Travels Ltd., and Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
