Man detained forraising bomb alarm after boarding flight PATNA: A man was detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at the Jayprakash International Airport here for allegedly raising a false bomb alarm after boarding a Delhi-bound IndiGo flight with his parents on Thursday evening.
The man, identified as Rishi Chand Singh Bedi, hails from Lucknow and works with a private company in Patna. Soon after boarding the Delhi-bound IndiGo flight (6E-2126) at 8.30pm with his parents, he shouted that there was bomb in the aircraft, Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh said. "The parents of the passenger slapped him for raising false alarm. The incident created panic among other passengers. As a precautionary measure, all the passengers were de-boarded," the DM added.
He said the departure of the flight was terminated and all the passengers were safely evacuated from it. The flight was then parked at an isolated place and a bomb disposal squad was called for thorough check.
"It seems the man is mentally unstable. He is being questioned by the CISF," the DM said.
SHO of Patna airport police station Vinod Peter said Bedi's parents had come to the city to take their son back to Delhi after his employer complained that he was behaving intemperately. "He started shouting even before the door of the flight was closed. The CISF personnel immediately detained him. Luggage of all passengers will be thoroughly checked," he added.
