Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:10AM

Hindustan Foods(up 10.09%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 2.36%), Britannia Industries(up 1.03%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.94%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.71%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.66%), Umang Dairies(up 0.56%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.54%), Emami(up 0.31%) and Marico(up 0.25%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 4.22%), Parag Milk(down 2.10%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.45%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.12%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.99%), DFM Foods(down 0.99%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.80%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.74%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.68%) and Dangee Dums(down 0.63%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 26.7 points up at 16631.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 72.08 points at 55754.03 at around 11:10AM.

UPL Ltd(up 3.16%), Eicher Motors(up 2.76%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.66%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.44%), HDFC Bank(up 1.04%), Britannia Industries(up 1.03%), HDFC(up 0.95%), Grasim Industries(up 0.93%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.88%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 2.19%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.53%), HCL Technologies(down 1.18%), NTPC(down 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.12%), Enterprises(down 1.07%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.95%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.9%), Wipro(down 0.83%) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.71%) were trading in the red.
