STF busts solvers’ gang, six arrested; FIR registered at city’s Rawatpur police station

Kanpur: The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested six members of solvers’ gang in Kanpur who came to appear for group D exam at a private technology institute located in Awas Vikas III on Tuesday. The arrested accused include Rajesh, Suman Kumar, Satish Kumar, Amarjeet Kumar, Inderjit Kumar Sinha and Amarendra Kumar, all natives of Bihar.
A case has been registered against them at the Rawatpur police station of the city.
In the FIR registered at Rawatpur police station, it has been stated that this gang was operating from Nalanda district of Bihar.
In-charge STF, Shailendra Singh said solvers used to come often from Nalanda on a large-scale to write examinations for actual candidates in the city. “More information is being gathered about the gang,” he said.
STF inspector Lan Singh said the Staff Selection Commission’s Multi Tasking Service Examination was held on Tuesday at a private Technology Center located at Ambedkarpuram, Awas Vikas-3.
The STF was tipped off that two genuine examinees are bringing with them solvers, who will take the exam in their place.
“On this STF sleuths became active near the examination center. The suspects appeared in a short time near the examination center. When they were caught and interrogated, they confessed to be the members of a solver gang. On the basis of tip-off provided by the two, four other members of the gang were arrested. Fake Aadhar cards, two fake PAN cards, one fake election card, three ATMs, seven mobile phones, two fake admit cards, Rs 3660 in cash, were recovered from them,” said STF officials further.
