Mechanincal engineering expo attracts students and parents

Dharwad: Around 40 student projects covering electrical/hybrid vehicle technology, agricultural products like manual crop spraying machine, solar operated weeder, cold-press oil extracting machine, solar dryer for food grains, automatic Areca-nut de-husking machine, solar cooker,smoke detection system in railway coaches, semi-automated jaggery making unit, wind turbine and automated guided vehicle system among others attracted the visitors to the mechanical engineering student’s innovative/ social relevant project exhibition ‘MechPro-22’ organised by the department of mechanical engineering of SDM College of Engineering and Technology.
More than 300 students from various schools and colleges along with parents and faculties visited the expo. The event showcased multifaced aspects of mechanical engineering covering design/ innovations/ concepts as well avenues of the engineering branch.The exhibition also brought a deep understanding of mechanical engineering highlighting current trends and it’s relevance in present scenario. There was also an interaction between visiting students and campus placed students of SDMCET which helped clear doubts about placement opportunities in mechanical engineering.
In-charge principal R L Chakrasali inaugurated the expo. Dean-admin Prof G L Rajbanshi and head of the department and I Sridhar were present on this occasion.
