Punjabi vocalist Raashi Sood and singer-songwriter Raja Kumari have been featured on the Times Square Billboard for their recent collaboration for the song 'Out of Love'.
Raashi, who is known for songs such as 'Sorry Sorry' and 'Mil Mahiya' said: "I started my journey 10 years ago and hustled really hard to make my name in the industry. I am absolutely over the moon and cannot thank the unwavering love and support that I've been getting from the audiences and well-wishers enough."

Composed by Raashi, 'Out Of Love' is a breakup song. This is a fusion of Punjabi pop music and English hip-hop. She added: "It's a huge moment. I'd like to say to all the other South Asian
artists, especially women. We are equal. Let's go out there and rock it. Urban Punjabi pop music with punchy and powerful English hip-hop."

Raja Kumari mentioned on her social media: "Thank you @spotify @spotifyindia for putting not just 1, but 2 Indian women on a Billboard in Times Square! Little Naya standing in for @raashisood because when one of our dreams come true…a million more dreams are born! Thankful 🧿#OutOfLove"

Comenting on the post, Raashi wrote - " Representing Women ! Overwhelmed to see this @spotify Never could have imagined that a school teacher from Ludhiana could reach here! DREAM BIG AND MAKE THEM HAPPEN! Love you girl @therajakumari"

 •
First thing first, we asked Deedar, how did you get the project? Here’s what she had to say, “Raj Shekhar, who is the lyricist of the song called me one evening! Parag Chhabra the composer of the song was also there. They asked me to hum a few lines of the song, there & then! I was standing in front of Gurudwara, so you know I had extra blessings! They loved the tone & asked me to see them in the studio the next day itself. Uske baad toh aap sunn hi rahe ho! (Rest you have been listening to it.)”

 •
The song ‘Mor Mor’ has a Haryanvi touch to it. Thus, we asked Kaur was it a little hard to work with that dialect? While replying to the same, she had a big smile on her face. She expressed, “I’m a big bold Punjabi girl, who was born & brought up in Haryana! So now you know, it was my cup of tea.”

 •
Besides the dialect, the genre of the song is also different from Deedar’s last songs. Thus, came our next question, - “You have been majorly known for soothing melodies, and 'Mor Mor' is from another genre altogether was it more like a challenge for you or a piece of cake?”

“I’m glad you are saying that I’m known for melodic songs. I’m happiest to have shown my versatility with this song. At times, an artist is capable of singing different genres, but mauka nahi milta (we don’t get the opportunity). I wish aise hi mujhe aur pieces of cakes milte rahe and main khati rahun aur gaati rahun ! (I wish I keep on getting such pieces of cakes, I keep eating them and keep singing),” quoted Deedar Kaur.
