NOIDA: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly thrashed and threatened by three minors inside an unoccupied flat in a society located in UP's Greater Noida West.
The matter is being looked after by the Juvenile Justice Court, officials said.
A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media and the act is said to have taken place on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to TOI, the mother of the boy said that she got to know about the incident on Thursday evening.
"A known person in the society sent me a video on WhatsApp asking about my son being thrashed. The person also informed me that this video was shared in society's official group. As I opened the video I was shocked to see my son being beaten in a dark room and even more shocked as my son did not tell me anything," she said.
The frightened mother also mentioned that her son was not at home when she saw the video.
Following this, she immediately rushed downstairs to look for him.
"After looking for him she took a sigh of relief and asked him about the incident. He told me that when he was cycling in the society around 7pm on Wednesday near the badminton court, three boys forcefully took him to the B tower. Initially, he was taken to the 11th floor and later to an unoccupied flat on the first floor. They then thrashed, abused and even threatened him," said the mother of the boy.
She narrated that after counselling her son, he told us that he was traumatised after the incident and could not talk about it.
He has also revealed to his mother that a few days back, the three had thrashed him following which he bled from his nose.
"We are afraid for our son. The kids have also told my son that they would kill him and us as well. We want our kids' safety. We shifted to the society around 6-7 months ago. The family members of the accused are asking us to take the case back in order to save their future," she revealed.
Some of the residents TOI spoke to at the society stated that the three kids have been involved in such acts earlier as well and also raised questions on the security staff of the society.
"After this incident came to light, it has been found that several families revealed similar acts took place with their kids too. We are afraid to live here now. What do the security guards of the society do when the children are being forcefully taken in the building premises or when they come out crying?" a resident asked questions about how the flat was open where the nine-year-old was taken.
Answering the questions, the managing director of the society stated that they would get the CCTV footage of the building checked and if any lapses in the security is found, they would take appropriate action.
Meanwhile, the juvenile justice board has confirmed that the case has come to their notice.
"The medical examination of the child was carried out today and he will be produced before the child welfare committee. Legal proceedings will be done accordingly. We have got an application from the nine-year-old's mother," the officials told TOI.
