Ganjam to cancel leave of all staff

Berhampur: The Ganjam administration has cancelled the leaves of all government employees as there is a fear of flood-like situation in view of heavy rain forecast by the IMD.
On Wednesday, the IMD issued a yellow warning and forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday. There was no rainfall recorded in the district on Thursday, even the weather was cloudy.
Collector (Ganjam) Dibya Jyoti Parida has asked the employees not to leave their respective workplaces till July 30 without permission. Under special circumstances, staff might be allowed to go on leave after the collector’s permission.
Almost all reservoirs are filled to capacity following last week’s rainfall. All rivers flowing through the district are in spate after rain in the upper catchment area. TNN
