NEW DELHI: In a major relief to former chief minister
B.S. Yediyurappa, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed Karnataka High Court's order refusing to quash the criminal proceedings against him under the Prevention of Corruption of Act.
The criminal proceedings pertain to Yediyurappa allegedly illegally denotifying acres of land, acquired for an IT project, in the Varthur-Whitefiled IT corridor when he was Deputy Chief Minister during 2006-07.
The FIR was registered by the Karnataka Lokayukta Police on December 21, 2015, on a private complaint filed by Vasudeva Reddy.
