Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:04AM

Energy Development Company(up 4.19%), JSW Energy(up 3.31%), DPSC(up 2.44%), Limited(up 1.63%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.36%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 1.31%), RTNPOWER(up 1.28%), Karma Energy(up 1.27%), Inox Wind Energy(up 1.16%) and NLC India(up 1.04%) were among the top gainers.

Hitachi Energy India(down 2.30%), Jyoti Structures(down 1.85%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.92%), Torrent Power(down 0.89%), Alstom T&D India(down 0.89%), Reliance Power(down 0.84%), NTPC(down 0.83%), KPI Green Energy(down 0.82%), CESC(down 0.60%) and Inox wind(down 0.55%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 28.55 points up at 16633.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 79.29 points at 55761.24 at around 10:04AM.

UPL Ltd(up 3.03%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.82%), Eicher Motors(up 1.58%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.4%), Britannia Industries(up 1.28%), HDFC(up 1.09%), HDFC Bank(up 1.03%), Cipla(up 0.72%), ICICI Bank(up 0.71%) and Nestle India(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.63%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.05%), HCL Technologies(down 1.03%), Wipro(down 0.99%), Enterprises(down 0.86%), NTPC(down 0.83%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.73%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.71%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.63%) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
