Thiruvananthapuram: National leadership of the Youth Congress suspended two Youth Congress vice-presidents in state on Thursday for flouting the organization's discipline. Youth Congress leaders MS Balu and NS Nusur were suspended.
The suspension order issued by Youth Congress national secretary Sravan Rao didn’t specifically mention the nature of their indiscipline. However, it is learnt that the YC leaders were suspended for their alleged role in leaking chat messages that appeared in Youth Congress WhatsApp group. Their actions landed another vice-president and former MLA KS Sabarinadhan in trouble over the inflight protest against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. They are also facing charges for giving rise to a controversy over the misbehaviour of another state leader during a Chintan Shivir at Palakkad.
The duo and 10 others had allegedly shot off a letter to Youth Congress national president BV Sreenivasan on Wednesday, accusing YC state president and MLA Shafi Parambil for not taking action against frequent leaks of messages in the official WhatsApp group.
