PATNA: JD(U)’s Siwan MP Kavita Singh has filed a complaint with the police, alleging that she and her husband Ajay Singh received several threat calls from an international number, police said on Thursday.
The complaint was registered at Siwan police station late Wednesday night after the MP allegedly received at least four calls on her official number between 5pm and 6pm. Police said the caller introduced himself as Akhlaque and told the couple that their fate would be similar to the founder of Hindu Samaj party, Kamlesh Tiwari of Uttar Pradesh, who was murdered in 2019.
Kavita told TOI on Thursday that she received the first call around 5pm from Akhlaque who asked her to give the cellphone to her husband. “I brought the matter to the notice of Siwan SP Shailesh Kumar Sinha without making any delay. Probe revealed that the call was made from Beijing,” she added.
