MYSURU: Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Centre director Dr CN Manjunath said the institution will be opening its fourth Cath lab facility at its Mysuru centre in the next one and half months.
A decision to this effect was taken as Mysuru region witnessed an increase of heart patients in the last few years.
He was speaking after being felicitated by staff members as the state government has extended his service for one year. He said the Mysuru hospital recorded 700 to 800 outpatients daily with 40 Cath lab procedures. The new Cath lab facility aims at reducing stress both on doctors and patients waiting for the facility, he added.
Manjunath said a 50-bedded Jayadeva Satellite Centre will be opened at KC General Hospital in Bengaluru in August. It will have an OPD, ICU and a Cath lab.
As the works on the 150-bed Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Vascular Sciences and Research Centre at Kalaburagi is still in progress, the centre will be opened next year, he said
He said a 400-bed Jayadeva Hospital will also come up in Belagavi in the coming years. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will lay the foundation stone for this hospital in August fourth week, he said.
