GURUGRAM: As many as 21 cars parked inside Pyramid society in Sector 70A were damaged by over a dozen armed men who created a ruckus inside the society around 12.30 am on Wednesday.
Operator of the parking area outside the society Tarun Raghav alleged that around 13 men armed with iron rods and sticks smashedwindows of the cars in the in the parking area.
Raghav also alleged his guard was also beaten up with rods and sticks when he came to stop the men. “When my guard, Sushil, tried to stop the men, they thrashed him with rods and sticks. The guard suffered injuries,” Raghav told the police. Raghav said that he has the video footage of the entire incident which he has shared with the police.
As per the police, two men living in the society as tenants had called women but the things didn’t go well between them. The women called their friends who came and smashed cars parked outside the society.
The police said that the entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera. As per the police, the society doesn’t have its own parking area and the residents park their vehicles outside for which they pay every month.
An FIR has been registered at Badshapur police station under sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
However, no arrests have been made yet.
“We are reviewing the CCTV camera footage to identify the culprits. We are simultaneously launching raids. There was no personal enmity between residents. Arrests will be made soon,” said a police officer.
