PATNA: RJD chief
Lalu Prasad was discharged from AIIMS-Delhi 15 days after he was airlifted from Patna for better treatment there.
The 74-year-old former Bihar CM is likely to stay at his eldest daughter and Rajya Sabha Misa Bharti’s residence in Delhi till his fractured shoulder heals and he recovers from other ailments.
Lalu’s close aide and former MLC Bhola Yadav told TOI on Friday evening that the RJD chief’s fractured shoulder bone is still recovering. “He has been advised to keep wearning a belt. He is still weak and will rest at home with family,” Bhola said.
Lalu’s shoulder and pelvic bone had fractured after falling at his Patna residence on July 3. Sources said some painkiller medicine reacted as he also suffers from chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension and cardiac problems. His oxygen level had also dropped and he was airlifted to AIIMS-Delhi on July 6.
Bhola said Lalu’s wife and former CM Rabri Devi, their younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and other daughters were with him. “There is no plan of bringing Lalu ji back to Patna as of now as he is still to recover from various ailments as well as weakness,” he said.
Sources close to the family said a plan to take Lalu to
Singapore for kidney transplant is also on hold for the time being.
