Noida: Employees of Noida and Greater Noida authorities, who were transferred at the beginning of this month, have been directed to join their new postings at the earliest.
Sources said the two authorities did not relieve them immediately after their transfer orders as their replacements were not sent. Now, irrespective of whether new employees are sent here or not, the transferees will have to join the new postings soon.
TOI has learnt that there are still about 20 officials in the Noida Authority and seven in the Greater Noida Authority who are yet to be relieved given the shortage of staff in the two development bodies.
State industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ on Wednesday threatened to suspend employees “who do not join their new postings”. “I have come to know that some officers and employees posted in Noida and Greater Noida authorities have been here for about 30-32 years and are reluctant to join their new postings.”
“A final warning is being given to such officers and employees that they should immediately go to their new posting place and take charge, otherwise, action will be taken against such officers and employees and they would be suspended,” read a statement issued by the minister.
Noida Authority OSD Avinash Tripathi said, “Overall, about 40 employees have been transferred out of the Authority to other districts. As far as my office is concerned, the transfer orders of 28 officials have come.”
“Of them, 23 have been relieved till now. We have retained some officials, including one general manager and two executive engineers, as we are yet to get their replacements. So far, three-four staffers have been transferred here, but only one has joined so far. Sending everyone will slow down our functioning,” he added.
According to the transfer list issued on June 30, several senior officials — including GM-rank and manager-level officials — were posted to the UP State Industrial Development Authority office in Kanpur. Some officials have been sent to the industrial development authorities in Gorakhpur, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.
In Greater Noida, about 28 officials of the ranks of deputy general manager, senior manager, manager and assistant manager among others were transferred to different districts. According to officials, 21 of them were relieved until Thursday evening. “The remaining officials will also be soon relieved from their postings,” said an official.
As far as the matter related to junior staff working at the same office for over 30 years is concerned, an official said till 2018, there was this rule that employees would work where they had been residing. “It was only in 2018 that changes were made in the policy and staff lists were centralised,” the official added.
