You will probably agree that one of the best things about summer is mangoes! Rightly called the king of fruits in India, mango is equally loved by all in its various varieties. The sweet and juicy fruit can not only be relished in various forms — from smoothie to chutney and salad — but it also offers umpteen health benefits.

Stressing the same, nutritionist Lovneet Batra recently took to Instagram to share the many benefits of Alphonso . “The king of all fruits, mango, is back in season. Well, mango is often savoured for its sweetness and succulence. But it has a plethora of health benefits to offer you,” she captioned the post.

She went on to list the following benefits

  • Mango helps alkalise the body: An organic mango is rich in tartaric acid, malic acid, and traces of citric acid that primarily help in maintaining the alkali reserve of the body.

“So, what’s not to love about alphonso mangoes? Delicious and good for you,” she added.
