Gurgaon: Though the ongoing road repair projects undertaken by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is getting delayed due to monsoon, the authority is still finding opportunities to carry out the work on almost 40 kilometre of roads in the city.
Officials said the stretches on which work is currently underway include a 1.7 kilometre master sector dividing road between sectors 17 and 18, a 1.3 kilometre stretch from the toll gate on National Highway (NH-8) to the Kapashera border, and a 1.3 kilometre master dividing road of sectors 93 and 94.
"These are all ongoing works, whose start dates may vary from three weeks ago to four or five months ago. These were all urgent works so we did now want to delay them. The idea was to do as much construction as possible before the monsoon. Now the deadlines have also been set keeping possible delays caused by the rains," said a GMDA official.
Furthermore, GMDA is also working on the 1.4 kilometre master road of sectors 112 and 114, the 6.2 kilometre master road of sectors 45 and 52, 46 and 51, 47 and 49, and 46 and 47, as well as a 4 kilometre stretch that serves as the sector dividing road of sectors 45 and 46, 51 and 52, 38 and 39, and 32 and 33. The 5 kilometre stretch between Huda City Centre and Subhash Chowk, similarly, is also being worked on, along with the special repair of the master road, roadside drains and footpaths of the dividing roads of sectors 65 and 66 and 66 and 67.
