UNICEF workshop on child rights

Ranchi: UNICEF, Jharkhand, with the support of Navbharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) on Tuesday organised a teachers’ workshop on child rights. The programme is being run in six blocks of Ranchi, and three blocks each in Giridih and West Singhbhum districts. Over 73 teachers from six blocks of Ranchi district participated in the workshop.
Astha Alang, communication officer with UNICEF said, “Teachers play an important role in shaping children’s lives by providing the right environment and care in schools. Hence, it is imperative for teachers to be aware of child rights, prevailing social evils which adversely impact their development, besides the legal provisions.” tnn
