Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, will undergo a non-surgical weight loss procedure, her manager Gina Rodriguez confirmed to E! News, called Suture Sculpt Endoscopic Sleeve.
"Alana has been losing weight for months now and wants to do the procedure because she thinks it will help her lose more and keep it off," her manager said, adding that her boyfriend Dralin Carswell will also be doing the procedure.
According to Mayo Clinic, Suture Sculpt Endoscopic Sleeve is a minimally invasive weight-loss procedure in which a suturing device is inserted into your throat and down to your stomach. The endoscopist then places sutures in your stomach to make it smaller.
TMZ reports the couple will travel to New York City to get the procedure done, and it could cost around $13 000.
Her mom, Mama June Shannon – who appeared alongside her in Toddlers and Tiara's before landing their own reality show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, making them household names – also underwent a weight loss procedure (gastric sleeve surgery) in 2015.
The two currently star in Mama June: Road to Redemption.
