Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 5.51%), Inox Wind Energy(up 5.00%), Indowind Energy(up 2.33%), Suzlon Energy(up 2.27%), Reliance Power(up 2.11%), NHPC(up 2.10%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 1.36%), RTNPOWER(up 1.28%), Energy Development Company(up 1.19%) and Adani Power(up 1.14%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy(down 2.21%), KPI Green Energy(down 1.27%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.11%), PTC India(down 0.79%), KEC International(down 0.71%), NLC India(down 0.59%), Inox wind(down 0.43%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.42%), Torrent Power(down 0.36%) and Limited(down 0.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 55.05 points up at 16575.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 183.83 points at 55581.36 at around 10:19AM.

IndusInd Bank(up 5.07%), UPL Ltd(up 1.73%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.6%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.53%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.4%), Infosys(up 1.15%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.05%), Enterprises(up 1.02%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.89%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.89%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 1.63%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.08%), SBI Life(down 0.72%), Reliance Industries(down 0.57%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.23%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.09%) were trading in the red.
