NOIDA: Projects that were stuck because of restrictions imposed during the pandemic will now have a year for completion. An order issued by the additional chief secretary for infrastructure and industrial development, Arvind Kumar, clarified that the relaxation was being extended from six months earlier to a year.
In addition, allottees who have got their land lease deeds executed before March 22, 2020, but could not renew them the next year will also get 12 months more.
Those executing the projects will not have to pay any additional amount for missing the deadline. The development works include setting up of industrial units, construction of educational institutions, medical facilities and other infrastructural work.
According to the order, the extension of time for completing the development projects are in keeping with the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022.
Kumar said the extension followed complaints from several businessmen and industrialists, who suffered mounting losses because of the lockdowns. The order said the extension of a year would resolve the issues faced by the industrialists and those involved in development work in the authority areas.
