
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Bharat Forge(up 2.01 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.3 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.98 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.91 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.49 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 3.04 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.74 per cent), Escorts Kubota(down 1.26 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.06 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.7 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.22 per cent down at 12511.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 180.3 points at 16520.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 629.91 points at 55397.53.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of SAIL, ONGC, Vedanta, and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Paradeep Phosphates Ltd., , Delhivery Ltd., and . hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, , Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
