Bihar governor Phagu Chauhan, CM Nitish Kumar condole Captain Anand’s death in Poonch

PATNA: Governor Phagu Chauhan and CM Nitish Kumar on Monday condoled the death of Captain Anand in a grenade blast in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
Nitish said he was deeply saddened to learn about the martyrdom of Captain Anand, a resident of Naya Gaon village under Parbatta police station area in Khagaria district.
“The nation shall forever remain indebted to the braveheart for his supreme sacrifice,” the CM said in a statement issued by his office. His last rites will be performed with police honours, the CM announced.
“On the night of July 17, 2022, an accidental grenade blast occurred, when the Indian troops were performing their duties along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. The grenade blast resulted in injuries to soldiers, who were immediately evacuated by helicopter to the command hospital at Udhampur. During the treatment, Captain Anand and Naib-Subedar Bhagwan Singh succumbed to their injuries,” an Army spokesman said in Jammu on Monday.
