NWKRTC announces waterfalls tour package in Belagavi district

Belagavi: The Belagavi division of North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has launched a holiday tour package during the monsoon season to visit waterfalls in the district on weekends (every second and fourth Saturday and every Sunday) at a minimum cost.
The package covers Hidkal Dam, Godachinmalki waterfalls and Gokak waterfalls. Vegadoot buses will be used to ferry passengers. The bus departs Belagavi bus station at 9am and reaches Hidkal Dam at 10am followed by one hour for sight seeing. It will reach Godachinmalki at 11.30am and passengers will have one and half hour for sightseeing. It will to Gokak falls at 1.30pm where passengers can spend two-and-half hours. The bus will return to Belagavi at 6pm.
The ticket fare is Rs 160 per person. Those interested can book their seats at the Belagavi central bus station. Once can also call - 7760991612 or 7760991613 and the manager at 7760991625.
“We are getting an overwhelming response from tourists. We are getting more online bookings,” said KK Lamani, district transport officer (DTO) of Belagavi division.
Following the initiative at Belagavi, the Chikodi division has also introduced a similar tour package from two destinations - Nipani and Sankeshwar. The cost per passenger from Sankeshwar will be Rs 160, and Rs 270 from Nipani.
The bus will depart Sankeshwar at 9.30am and return by 6pm. In Nipani, the bus will depart at 9am. To book the seat from Nipani, call the NWKRTC manager on 7760991879 and from Sankeshwar call - 7760991877.
Chikodi divisional controller VM Shashidhar, said “We are getting good response for the coming 4th Saturday and Sunday tour packages from both Nipani and Sankeshwar. Although it looks as if the cost from Nipani is a bit more, it is estimated based on the number of stages in the route,” he said.
