Drugs worth ₹1 crore seized, 2 held

Ramgarh: Acting on a tip-off, Ramgarh police arrested two persons and seized drugs worth Rs 1 crore from a goods truck passing through the Ranchi-Patna stretch of NH-33 near Hesagarha village under Mandu police station on Monday.
“The seized consignment, which weighs seven quintals, appears to be ganja but we will send it for a forensic test to ascertain if it is any other form of narcotics,” Ramgarh SP Piyush Pandey said.
The arrested persons were identified as Shankar Ramashyari (28), who was the truck driver, and his helper Rantu Namata (30). tnn
