4 of a family killed in accident

Kalaburagi: Four members of a family were killed in an accident near Balaji camp in Sindanur taluk in Raichuru district in the early hours of Monday. The deceased are Pradeep 35, his wife Poornima, 30, and their children Jitin, 12, and Mahin, 7, residents of Hyderabad city. The accident happened when they were returning from Goa in their car, and it collided a truck head-on.
Balaganur police took more than two hours to take the bodies out of the car. They have informed the relatives of the deceased about the accident and also asked them to take the bodies from the hospital where they are kept. Balaganur police searching for truck driver, who fled the spot after abandoning the truck.
Elderly couple killed
Chitradurga: An elderly couple travelling in a car were killed in an accident in Bharamasagara police station limits of Chitradurga district on Monday afternoon. The mishap occurred when their speeding car rammed into a truck near Kasavanahalli on NH-48, because of which the vehicle got totally damaged, and the couple — Jayaram Naik, 73, a retired deputy superintend of excise, and his wife Latha Jayaram Naik, 63, a native of Davanagere — died on the spot.
They were travelling from Bengaluru to Davanagere in the car driven by Jayaram Naik. Bharamasagara police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to a hospital for a post-mortem, after which they were handed over to their family, police said.
